Stretch bands for counting stitches

I am making a basket weave hat and to help me remember if I need to knit or purl I have marked my pegs with the stretch band braceklet loops. These work great!!!I triple wrap the first peg and then just slide on the others.  The loops are big enough so it never gets caught in the yarn or hook.
